Beijing Cultural Gala marks 75 years of China–Pakistan diplomatic relations

BEIJING: A cultural gala held in Beijing on marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, bringing together participants from diplomatic circles, cultural sectors, the media, and business communities.

The event was organized the other day in collaboration with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC) & Pakistan Embassy in Beijing and featured a program focused on cultural exchange and artistic collaboration. Attendees highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries and the role of people-to-people connections in maintaining bilateral ties.

Speakers at the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, highlighted that generations of leaders and diplomats from both Pakistan and China had established a model inter-state partnership rooted in mutual trust, mutual respect, and mutual support. He emphasized that people-to-people connections remained central to this relationship, with cultural exchange playing a key role in sustaining it in all seasons and circumstances.

Long Yuxiang, Executive Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center, underscored the enduring strength of China–Pakistan friendship and highlighted the importance of cultural communication and exchange in fostering mutual understanding and civilizational dialogue, CEN reported.  Zhai Meiqing, President of Xiangjiang Group, also addressed the event, emphasizing the role of cultural and creative industries in promoting cross-cultural and people-to-people connectivity.

The gala included a variety of performances reflecting both Chinese and Pakistani cultural traditions. A notable segment of the evening featured musical performances in Urdu and Chinese by Pakistani artist Natasha Baig, illustrating cross-cultural artistic expression.

The event formed part of a wider series of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, focusing on cultural collaboration and public engagement alongside traditional areas of cooperation. APP
