Naqvi pledges full support for annual Tablighi Ijtima

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured the Tablighi Jamaat of the government’s full cooperation and facilitation in the successful organization of the upcoming annual Tablighi Ijtima scheduled for November.

The assurance came during a meeting held in Islamabad between the Interior Minister and a delegation of senior members of the Tablighi Jamaat. The delegation comprised Anwar Ghani, Iqbal Mian, Muhammad Amir, and Zahid Pracha. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, and Inspector General of Islamabad Police were also present at the meeting. During the discussion, the delegation briefed the Interior Minister on the ongoing preparations and logistical arrangements for the large-scale religious gathering. They emphasized the importance of administrative coordination to ensure smooth proceedings and the convenience of both local and international participants.

Interior Minister Naqvi reaffirmed that the Ministry of Interior would extend all possible support to facilitate the event. He said that special arrangements, similar to those implemented in previous years, would be made for foreign delegates, including the establishment of dedicated visa counters at airports to expedite entry procedures.

“It is both our responsibility and an act of service to provide every possible facility to those engaged in the noble mission of spreading the message of Islam,” the Minister stated. The delegation informed the minister that last year’s congregation drew nearly 15,000 international participants representing 108 countries, underscoring the event’s global significance. The meeting concluded with a special prayer for the victims of recent floods as well as for the peace, prosperity, and security of Pakistan. APP
