ISLAMABAD: Pakistan condemns Israeli action to stop the Global Sumud Flotilla, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said at a briefing on Friday.

Khan welcomed former senator Mushtaq Ahmed’s release and return home. He said Pakistan supported the Gaza peace plan, but Pakistan strongly condemns the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Malaysia and during this visit bilateral relations and trade came under discussion. He said that an agreement was signed on promotion of trade, investment, defence and tourism. He said that cooperation between the two countries on key issues was emphasized and both leaders reiterated their joint support on the issue of Palestine. He said that Pakistan supports declaring Al-Quds Al-Sharaf as the Palestinian capital. He said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the issue of Palestine. He said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also met President Donald Trump. Trump’s role during the Pakistan-India tension was appreciated during this meeting, he added. Staff Report
