Fatal road accident in Dera Ismail Khan claims 11 lives

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least 11 members of a family were killed in a tragic road accident in Dera Ismail Khan after their vehicle’s brakes failed on the way to Danasar, officials said on Friday.

The family was travelling from Khanozai in Balochistan when the accident occurred. Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site and recovered seven bodies, including five women, one man and one child.

All the deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital, while efforts continued to trace and recover the remaining victims.

Three individuals were injured, who were provided with first aid on site and then shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Dera Ismail Khan. The injured people included 27-year-old Darya Khan, 10-year-old Yousaf and 25-year-old Ahmad.

District Emergency Officer Engineer Faseehullah expressed deep grief and sorrow over this tragic accident and prayed for the departed. Staff Report
