Pakistan rejects Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel’ remarks
FO vows support for Palestinian cause, pre-1967 borders
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected recent Israeli statements about the so-called “Greater Israel” plan, reaffirming its support for an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Israeli remarks hint at the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, which Pakistan completely rejects. The spokesperson urged the international community to also reject such provocative ideas, calling them a blatant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and relevant UN resolutions.
“These inflammatory concepts reflect an intent to perpetuate illegal occupation and are an affront to efforts for peace in the region,” the spokesperson said, calling on the world to stop the occupying power from further destabilizing the region and to take immediate measures to end atrocities against Palestinians.
Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the creation of a sovereign state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on the borders prior to 1967.
