RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said he will discuss the low public turnout at Tuesday’s protest with the party leadership and founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Raja criticised the ongoing Toshakhana-II trial, calling it “entirely unconstitutional and illegal.”
He added that in the cipher case, families, lawyers, and media were also barred from entry despite clear High Court instructions, which violated the principle of an open trial.
Commenting on the protest, Raja stated, “I will talk within the party about why people did not show up. I believe yesterday was largely successful, but the protest could have been better. We will consult Imran Khan on this.”
He further revealed that he and Mehmood Khan Achakzai stayed at Chakri Interchange with Imran Khan’s sisters until 11 p.m., emphasizing that no PTI MNA should miss such calls without a valid reason.
