LONDON: Former England batting legend Kevin Pietersen has lavished his praise on West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell as the latter is retiring from the international cricket after playing upcoming two of the T20I matches against Australia in his home ground of Jamaica.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pietersen has acknowledged the dominance of Russell in the limited-over cricket, labelling him a “superstar”. He has underscored the impact that Russell made for the West Indies in the white-ball cricket.
“Andre Russell retiring is a sad day for West Indies short-form cricket. He’s a superstar and will be missed in the white-ball game,” he said. Extending his felicitations to Russell for a successful career, Pietersen added, “Congrats on a great career, brother!”
