GAZA: Gaza hospitals say 64 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli bombings on Saturday, at least 9 of them near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid hub in the north of Rafah, including three children.
The Israeli military struck multiple areas, including the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, where at least two people were killed in an air raid on a family home. Another strike in Gaza’s az-Zarqa neighbourhood killed one person and injured others, according to Palestinian news agency.
A separate attack targeted a school sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza, killing at least five, while one of the deadliest strikes hit a makeshift tent in al-Mawasi, where seven members of a single family were killed.
The escalation comes as Hamas issued a positive response to a proposed ceasefire deal, in what observers describe as a familiar pattern of intensified bombardment ahead of potential truce agreements.

At least 743 Palestinians have died in Israeli attacks at the notorious GHF distribution centres, as Israeli forces continue to target people waiting for food and hospitals struggle to cope with the wounded.
Hamas says it is ready to start talks “immediately” on a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire, which will allow the desperately needed aid for Gaza.
Hamas ally Islamic Jihad says it supports plans for talks on a truce with Israel, but demanded “guarantees” that the process would lead to a permanent ceasefire.
The announcement came after it held consultations with other Palestinian factions and before a visit on Monday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, where President Donald Trump is pushing for an end to the war, now in its 21st month.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 57,338 people and wounded 135,957, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, a WFP assessment shows nearly one person in three is not eating for days, placing more people at risk of starvation. More than 700,000 people have been forced to relocate since March 18 as an estimated 85 percent of Gaza is now considered an active militarized zone
