IGP Islamabad honours police team for exceptional crime-fighting efforts

ISLAMABAD: A dignified ceremony was held at Central Police Islamabad to distribute certificates of appreciation and cash awards among the team that professionally solved 15 high-profile criminal cases, including the Sardar Faheem, Sana Yousuf, and Ishtiaq Shah murder cases.
The ceremony was attended by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as the chief guest. During the ceremony, he met with DIG Islamabad Muhammad Javad Tariq, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, and other officers.
IGP Islamabad praised the team’s exceptional performance in solving these serious cases in a professional manner and awarded them certificates and cash prizes.
He emphasized that all officers should perform their duties with the same spirit to ensure the prevention of crime and the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
He mentioned that this was the foremost duty and a demand of the oath they took when they donned the uniform. He further instructed all officers to perform their duties with diligence, responsibility, and honesty, considering it a form of worship.
All officers and personnel regarded the certificates and awards as an honor and pledged to continue carrying out their responsibilities with the same dedication and spirit in the future.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq visited the proposed routes of Muharram processions and Imambargahs in the federal capital. He was accompanied by senior officials, zonal SDPOs and SHOs.
On this occasion, the DIG Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the security arrangements and instructed all officers deployed for security duty to remain on high alert. He emphasized that all procession routes must be fully cordoned off and that adequate lighting must be ensured.
He stated that foolproof security arrangements are being implemented for Muharram processions and majalis, and that strict compliance with the prescribed SOPs will be ensured.
He further added that Islamabad Police is fully committed to providing comprehensive security during Muharram-ul-Haram. All necessary measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony and tolerance.
In line with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi efforts will be made to ensure religious harmony and maintain peace and order throughout Muharram in the federal capital.
