Pakistan, Saudi Arabia stress de-escalation, discuss Pak-China peace initiative

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Friday, during which the two sides discussed the evolving regional situation and called for urgent de-escalation.

According to the Foreign Office, both leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in the Gulf and the wider Middle East, stressing the need for dialogue to ease tensions.

The discussion also covered the Pakistan-China five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Gulf region and the Middle East.

Reaffirming the longstanding ties between the two countries, the ministers described Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations as strong and fraternal, and agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming days.
