UAF, Meezan Bank renews MoU to boost Islamic finance education
FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Meezan Bank Limited (MBL) on Monday renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote higher education and professional development in Islamic Banking and Finance.
According to details, as part of the initiative,Meezan Bank donated Rs.5 million to UAF.
The MoU was signed by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali and MBL Regional Manager Moazam Saeed.
Officials from both sides,including UAF’s Dr.Muhammad Tehsin Azahr and MBL’s Huzaifa Akhtar were also present.
Under the agreement,the two institutions will jointly operate the Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) at UAF’s Institute of Business Management Sciences. The center will offer academic programs, professional courses, workshops and research opportunities, while also serving as a hub for industry academia collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said the partnership will equip students with modern skills in a rapidly growing global sector.
Moazam Saeed said that Meezan Bank aims to make Islamic banking the first choice for customers while supporting an equitable economic system under Shariah principles.
