Pakistan, Uzbekistan eye close leather ties

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Royal Leather Group of Industries, Malik Azam, met with Chairman of the Leather Industry Association of Uzbekistan, Azcharmsanov, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding trade ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, with a particular focus on the leather industry.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of enhancing economic engagement and promoting greater collaboration in the leather sector, which they described as a key area of mutual interest. They highlighted the sector’s strong potential for attracting foreign investment and agreed that creating a conducive and investor-friendly business environment would be crucial to unlocking new opportunities. Malik Azam noted that the leather industry plays a significant role in Pakistan’s industrial and export landscape, providing employment to thousands of people.
