90 percent area cleared as operation in Katcha Area continues
IG police Punjab releases Rs 2.132 Million for medical treatment of Police employees’ children
Lahore: Punjab Police, in coordination with law-enforcement agencies, is continuing a full-scale and effective operation against criminal elements in the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan. Providing details, the spokesperson for Punjab Police said that during the recent operation, reports have been received of more dacoits being injured as a result of drone strikes, while underground bunkers of the dacoits have been destroyed. During the ongoing operation in Katcha, so far 2 dacoits have been killed, while a total of 139 dacoits have laid down their arms and surrendered themselves to the law. Ninety percent of the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan has been cleared.
Punjab Police spokesperson further said that so far 12 most-wanted dacoits carrying head money, as declared by the Government of Punjab, have also surrendered. Overall, 90 percent of the Katcha areas of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur have been cleared of dacoits after approximately 10 years.
DPO Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samo said that surgical strikes are ongoing against dacoits who refuse to surrender before the law. He said that most of the dacoits have been killed, while many have laid down their arms and abandoned the world of crime. The surrendered dacoits will be investigated strictly on merit and will be given full opportunity to obtain justice through the courts.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while appreciating the successful and effective actions against Kacha criminals, commended Rahim Yar Khan Police and praised the professional capabilities and bravery of the force.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has released an amount of Rs 2.132 million for the medical treatment of children of police employees from Lahore and various other districts. IG Punjab said that more than Rs 22 million is being spent daily on the welfare of the police force and their families. Punjab Police spokesperson while sharing details, said that an amount of Rs 500,000 has been approved for the spinal treatment of the daughter of Constable Ishtiaq Ahmad. Rs 250,000 has been released to Constable Yasir Younas for the treatment of his son. Rs 250,000 has been provided to Constable Muhammad Kashif for the spinal treatment of his son. An amount of Rs 250,000 has been approved for the eye treatment of the daughter of the widow of late Constable Abdul Rauf.
Similarly, Head Constable Tanveer Abbas has been given Rs 100,000 for the treatment of his son suffering from pneumonia. Sub-Inspector Hamid Raza, Constables Ghulam Ali, Muhammad Latif and Muhammad Salman have been issued a total of Rs 224,000 for the medical treatment of their children. Constables Muhammad Sohail, Safeer Abbas and Yasir Naveed have been provided a total of Rs 240,000 for the treatment of their children.
ASI Aftab Jameel, Driver Constables Muhammad Ramzan and Gulzar Subhani have been given a total of Rs 223,000 for the medical treatment of their children, while the wife of Head Constable Basharat Ali and Sanitary Worker Irfan Masih have been provided a total of Rs 95,000 for the treatment of their children. Punjab Police spokesperson said that IG Punjab released all the above-mentioned funds after scrutiny and formal approval by the Welfare Management Committee.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that police employees are performing their duties day and night to protect the life and properties of the public, and the best welfare of their families is the top priority of Punjab Police. (Staff Reporter)
