PFG convener holds meeting with Kyrgyz envoy
ISLAMABAD: The Convener of the Pakistan–Kyrgyz Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, met with Kylychbek Sultan, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan, here at the Parliament house.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Convener reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding brotherly ties with the Kyrgyz Republic, rooted in shared history, cultural affinity and mutual goodwill, said a press release.
He noted that the forthcoming visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan, after a gap of two decades, offers an important opportunity to advance cooperation in trade, connectivity and parliamentary exchanges.
Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen inter-parliamentary linkages, including enhanced coordination between the respective PFGs following the completion of the electoral process and reconstitution of the Kyrgyz Parliament.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic informed that, during the forthcoming visit of the President, will also hold a meeting with the Honourable Speaker, National Assembly.
The Convener highlighted the strong presence of Pakistani students in Kyrgyz educational institutions and growing people-to-people linkages.
Ambassador Sultan further conveyed his interest in seeing Kyrgyz students explore educational opportunities in Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement and to schedule a dedicated meeting between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Group at a mutually convenient time. APP
