All terror attempts on Bannu foiled in last three months
PESHAWAR: The Bannu police and security forces have successfully thwarted all terrorists’ attacks in Bannu during the last three months, said a detailed report issued by the Bannu Region Police on Sunday.
The report highlights that from August 28, 2025, until now, continuous counter-terrorism operations have been conducted under the direct supervision of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan.
The police report said, militants attempted 10 attacks on police stations and check-posts over the past three months, while more than 130 drone attacks were also planned. However, due to modern security measures, timely response and the effective use of technology, all attack attempts were completely foiled.
During operations conducted in the last week alone, 14 most-wanted terrorists were killed and 22 militants were arrested in injured condition.
Police stated that these actions were based on Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs), which significantly damaged terrorist networks in the region.
RPO Sajjad Khan in a statement said that some remote and mountainous areas of Bannu still contain hidden militant hideouts, from where terrorists attempted attacks on police installations. He added that the Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provided advanced resources and modern security tools to the region, including bulletproof gates, double-wall security systems and upgraded weaponry.
He further noted that the availability of modern devices allowed police to intercept and neutralize planned drone attacks at the earliest stage. He also praised the public, saying, The people of Bannu played a key role by supporting the police in the fight against terrorism.
The report concludes that more operations and security measures will continue in the coming days, with additional planning underway to further stabilize and secure the Bannu region. APP
