Pakistani food exporters off to Riyadh

LAHORE: A high-level delegation of Pakistani food exporters, led by Coordinator to Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Saif-ur-Rehman, left for Riyadh on Sunday to have meetings with relevant quarters to assess Saudi Arabia’s food requirements and the ways for enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Prior to his departure here, he told the media that the visit comes at a crucial time, as the ongoing Middle East crisis had heightened concerns over food security and supply chain stability across the region. He hoped that their visit will pave the way for increased exports, joint ventures, and long-term agreements, reinforcing economic cooperation and mutual trust between the two brotherly countries.

Saif-ur-Rehman said the delegation would hold series of meetings with Saudi officials, importers, and key stakeholders to better understand immediate and long-term food needs. The objective is to ensure timely and priority-based fulfillment of requirements while strengthening trade ties.

Pakistan, being an agrarian economy, is well-positioned to support Saudi Arabia in ensuring food security through reliable and high-quality exports. He highlighted the importance of building sustainable partnerships, improving logistics, and facilitating smoother trade mechanisms. APP
