Transport fares slashed by 30 to 40percent after fuel price relief
SARGODHA: Deputy Commissioner(DC) Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Saturday said that authorities have moved to pass on the benefit of reduced petroleum product prices to the public.
On special instructions, Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Sargodha,Malik Tahir held an urgent meeting with transporters, during which it was agreed to reduce fares for passenger transport and goods carriage by 30 to 40 percent.
Following the meeting, revised fare lists were prepared and implemented immediately.
The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has also formed special enforcement squads to ensure strict implementation of the new fares across the district.
Officials said the RTA secretary was personally monitoring field operations to ensure compliance and provide relief to the general public. APP
