JazzCash appointed as disbursement partner for KP’s Ehsaas fuel support scheme
ISLAMABAD: JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform, in partnership with Mobilink Bank, has been appointed as the exclusive disbursement partner for the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme, marking a major step in the large-scale digital delivery of fuel subsidies and reinforcing the growing role of digital infrastructure in ensuring timely, transparent support for citizens across the province.
Aligned with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s broader efforts to digitise public service delivery and enhance the transparency and efficiency of welfare programmes, the scheme streamlines the disbursement process. Eligible beneficiaries are identified and verified by relevant government departments, with subsidies transferred directly into their JazzCash wallets for immediate access.
Commenting on the initiative, Sohail Afridi, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said, “The Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme reflects our responsibility to stand with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a time of rising costs and economic pressure. Our focus is to ensure that relief reaches households in a way that is both accessible and dignified. By leveraging digital platforms such as JazzCash, we are strengthening our ability to deliver support directly to citizens.”
JazzCash leverages a nationwide network of over 1 million Raast QR-enabled merchants and agents, allowing beneficiaries to conveniently access and use funds in both urban centres and remote areas. With its experience in facilitating large-scale government disbursements, JazzCash will be supporting the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in delivering funds securely and on time. JazzCash has also set up a dedicated social welfare helpline – 0800-00444 – to support verified beneficiaries.
Murtaza Ali, CEO of JazzCash, added: “Our role in this initiative is to ensure that financial assistance moves efficiently from the system to the citizen. With the scale of our digital platform and our experience in supporting large public programmes, we are focused on making the process straightforward for beneficiaries so that they can access support without any delays.” APP
