Iran claims it struck aluminum plants in Bahrain and UAE

TEHRAN: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced on Sunday that they launched missile and drone strikes on aluminum facilities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates over the weekend.

“These are industries affiliated with and connected to the US military and aerospace sectors in the region,” the Guards said in a statement carried by Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.

The strikes hit an aluminum facility in the UAE and Aluminium Bahrain’s main plant, according to the Guards.

MANAMA: Aluminium Bahrain, one of the world’s largest aluminum producers, said two workers suffered minor injuries in the Iranian strike on Saturday.

“The safety and security of our people is our top priority at all times,” said Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, chief executive of Emirates Global Aluminium.

EGA confirmed that its Al-Taweelah site sustained significant damage during the attacks at Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi.

“We are deeply saddened and are assessing the damage to our facilities,” Bin Kalban added.

A number of EGA employees were injured, though none of the injuries were life threatening.

EGA’s Al-Taweelah smelter produced 1.6 million tonnes of cast metal in 2025.  Monitoring Desk
