Seven killed in Rajasthan’s chemical factory fire
JAIPUR: At least seven workers were killed and several others injured in a chemical factory explosion in Bhiwadi district of the Indian state of Rajasthan.
A fire broke out in a chemical factory in the Khushkheda Industrial Zone of the district on Monday morning after a powerful explosion. Six workers died on the spot in the explosion while several others were badly burnt.
According to Indian media, it is feared that around 10 workers are trapped in the factory and efforts are underway to evacuate them.
According to reports, the fire took a terrifying shape and engulfed the entire factory and none of the workers in the factory got a chance to get out. The bodies were so badly burnt that it was difficult to identify them.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. One of the injured has died.
The cause of the explosion and fire is not immediately known.
Initially, it has been suspected that the explosion in the factory was due to a short circuit or flammable material. Monitoring Desk
