Aurangzeb urges officers to adopt forward-looking approach
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Friday encouraged officers of 124th National Management Course to adopt a forward-looking and solutions-oriented approach in their respective domains.
Addressing the participants of 124th National Management Course at the National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Pakistan Administrative Staff College, the minister shared his perspective on Pakistan’s economic direction, fiscal reform agenda, and the importance of institutional resilience in navigating complex policy challenges, said a news release.
He highlighted the Government’s ongoing structural reform initiatives aimed at strengthening macroeconomic stability, broadening the tax base, improving public financial management, and enhancing transparency and accountability in governance.
The minister emphasized the critical role of senior civil servants in policy execution and institutional reform, noting that sustainable economic progress depends not only on sound policy formulation but also on effective implementation across tiers of government.
He underscored the importance of strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and inter-ministerial coordination in addressing contemporary challenges including fiscal sustainability, energy sector reform, and climate resilience.
The interactive session provided participants with an opportunity to engage in candid dialogue on policy trade-offs, reform sequencing, and the evolving global economic landscape.
The lecture was delivered as part of the “Strategic Policy Dialogue”, aimed at fostering direct engagement between national leadership and senior civil service officers on key governance and economic priorities. Staff Report
