JCP confirms six PHC judges, extends tenure of four others
ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the confirmation of six additional judges of the Peshawar High Court as permanent judges and granted a six-month extension to the tenure of four others.
The meeting of the commission was chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice YahyaAfridi. However, members of parliament belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a provincial minister from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were absent from the session.
According to the post-meeting statement, the commission conducted a detailed assessment of the judges’ data forms, service records, antecedents, and other submitted materials. Following this review, the appointments of Additional Judges Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayaz, Justice Salahuddin, Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Syed MudassirAmeer, and Justice QaziJawadEhsanullah were approved by a majority vote as permanent judges.
