Pakistan crush India by 191 runs to win U19 Asia Cup 2025

DUBAI: Pakistan Under-19 clinched the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup title with a commanding 191-run victory over India Under-19 in the final at the ICC Academy Ground on Sunday.

Batting first after India won the toss and opted to field, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 347 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was dominated by Sameer Minhas, who scored a remarkable 172 off 113 balls, striking 17 fours and nine sixes. Hamza Zahoor provided a brisk start with 18 off 14 balls, while Usman Khan contributed 35. Ahmed Hussain added stability in the middle order with 56, and captain Farhan Yousaf chipped in with 19. Late runs from Niqab Shafiq (12 not out) and Mohammad Sayyam (13 not out) helped Pakistan maintain momentum through the final overs.

For India, Deepesh Devendran picked up three wickets for 83 runs, while Khilan Patel and Henil Patel claimed two wickets each.

In reply, India Under-19 were dismissed for 156 in 26.2 overs, falling well short of the 348-run target. Only Deepesh Devendran offered resistance with a rapid 36 off 16 balls, while opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 26.

Pakistan’s bowling attack shared the wickets, with Ali Raza leading the way by taking 4 for 42. Abdul Subhan claimed 2 for 29, Mohammad Sayyam took 2 for 38, and Huzaifa Ahsan also picked up two wickets.

The emphatic win secured Pakistan their first outright Under-19 Asia Cup title, following their joint championship with India in 2012.

President Asif Ali Zardari has extended heartfelt congratulations to Pakistan Under-19 Cricket team on winning the Asia Cup.

In a statement, he said the spectacular victory against India in the final is a testament to the hard work, discipline and determination of the young players.

The president said the success of the Under-19 team is a source of pride and joy for the entire nation. He also appreciated the collective performance of the captain, players and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also felicitated the Pakistani team and the entire nation on winning the Under-19 Asia Cup.

In a statement, he commended the Pakistani players’ outstanding performance.

The premier said the Pakistani players have made history by defeating India in the final. He said the entire nation is proud of these young players.
