Security forces kill 13 terrorists in two KP IBOs
Seven terrorists killed in Mohmand, six in Bannu district
RAWALPINDI: Security forces have gunned down as many as 13 terrorists in two separate operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the Mohmand district on the reported presence of the Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists.
“During the conduct of operation, our troops effectively engaged the khawarij location and after an intense fire exchange, seven khawarij were sent to hell,” it added.
In another IBO conducted in the Bannu district, six more terrorists were neutralised by the security forces.
“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area,” the ISPR stated.
The operations are part the Azm-e-Istehkam” operation, approved by federal apex committee on National Action Plan.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating 13 terrorists active under Indian patronage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The president also paid tribute to the security forces and Balochistan Police for the successful operations against terrorists in Balochistan.
“The protection of Pakistan’s sovereignty is the foremost priority,” he said.
President Zardari also stated that every conspiracy of the enemy will be foiled.
PM Shehbaz said under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, the security forces are achieving major successes against terrorism.
The prime minister emphasized, “In this war against terrorism, the entire nation stands with the Armed Forces of Pakistan.”
He said the entire nation is united against terrorism and is determined to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country. Staff Report
