Security forces kill 14 terrorists in KP, Balochistan IBOs: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces have eliminated 14 terrorists in three separate operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to a press release issued by the military’s media wing, the security forces killed five Indian proxy terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan.

The operation was conducted on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, read the communique.

During the conduct of the operation, the ISPR said, security forces “effectively engaged the khawarij location and after an intense fire exchange, five terrorists were sent to hell.”

“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.”

In a separate IBO conducted in the Tank district of KP, the security forces gunned down seven terrorists.

In another operation conducted in Lakki Marwat district, security forces neutralised two more khawarij, the ISPR statement added.

“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Indian sponsored khawarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces, law enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians,” it added.

“Counterterrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm e Istehkam’ by security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have praised the security forces for carrying out two successful intelligence-based operations against terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in the districts of Tank and Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Terrorist attacks have seen a sharp increase in Pakistan, particularly in the bordering provinces of KP and Balochistan, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban regime came into power. Staff Report
