Govt announces complete ban on Imran Khan’s meetings: Law Minister
Attaullah Tarar vows strict action against anyone found disturbing law and order outside Adiala jail
ISLAMABAD: Law Minister Azam Nzeer Tarar and Federal Information Minister Atta Ulla Tarar have urged the people that no one should disturb over fake notification regarding the appointment of Chief of Defene Forces, adding that soon genuine notification will be issued by the government.
Addressing a press conference with Atta Tarar, Law Minister said that don’t worry, the original notification will also come soon. He made it clear that process is underway and notification of the appointment will be made at any time and storm in tea cup will come to an end.
Federal Law Minister said now a days issue of meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan was being raised a lot. He said the constitution and legislation in accordance with the constitution are needed for the national system.
He made it clear that Punjab government has the authority to allow meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.
Azam Nazeer Tarar said superior prisoners can meet once a week and not more than 6 people can attend the meeting. Azam Nazeer Tarar said Superintendent Jail has the power to stop the meeting.
Azam Nazeer Tarar said PTI members cannot hold political discussions in jail as per the jail rules. He said the jail rules clearly state that whatever is discussed in the meeting cannot be made public. He said now on ward meeting of Uzma Khan will not be held with Imran Khan.
Law Minister said Imran Khan was a convicted criminal, adding that prisoners are not allowed to meet without supervision. Under Rule 557, if the superintendent does not consider the meeting as per the rules, he can end it.
Azam Nazeer Tarar said the provincial government at that time had decided not to hold meetings. He said during this period, prisoners were also kept separately in jail. He said when, “When we went to meet, we had to follow many restrictions.”
Azam Nazir Tarar said, “after the meeting, we were not allowed to come out and have political discussions.”
Federal Information Minister Atta Ulla Tarar said PTI founder was a convicted prisoner in a corruption case. He said PTI leaders were giving interviews to Indian media. He said Imran Khan’s breakfast is not a poor man’s food.
He said these are the prisoners who have received the most facilities in the history of Pakistan. Atta Tarar said the sisters of the founder PTI try to create a disturbance of peace every day. He said cases of inciting people are being reported.
Information Minister said after meeting, the law was violated therefore the meetings of those who violated the law were stopped. Web Desk
