Legendary Pakistani comedian Lucky Dear passes away
LAHORE: Renowned comedian Lucky Dear, a household name in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, passed away in Lahore on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. He was 60.
According to family sources, the veteran entertainer had been under treatment at Mayo Hospital for lung disease, diabetes, and multiple organ failure. Despite doctors’ efforts and public prayers, his condition worsened in recent days, leading to his demise.
Hospital officials confirmed that Lucky Dear had slipped into a coma earlier this month as his liver, lungs, and stomach complications intensified.
He had been receiving emergency ICU care under constant supervision, with medical expenses covered by the government.
Doctors restricted family visits during his final days to ensure uninterrupted treatment. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, he could not recover.
Lucky Dear’s career spanned more than 40 years across theatre, television, and film. Known for his sharp wit and impeccable timing, he performed in hundreds of dramas and movies.
