Kidnapped Assistant Commissioner Ziarat Muhammad Afzal martyred

ZIARAT: Assistant Commissioner (AC) Ziarat, Muhammad Afzal, who was abducted two months ago, has been martyred by kidnappers, Levies sources confirmed on Sunday.

According to details, Muhammad Afzal was kidnapped along with his son from the Zizari area of Ziarat by unidentified armed men. His son, however, was later released safely.

A few days ago, the abductors released a video showing Afzal and his son, in which the officer was seen appealing to the authorities to meet the kidnappers’ demands.

Levies officials said that his body was recovered on Sunday, confirming that the officer was killed by his captors. Local authorities strongly condemned the incident and said efforts are underway to trace and arrest those responsible. Further investigations are in progress. Monitoring Desk
