JI to establish public committees across country to combat inflation, lawlessness: Dr Tariq
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has announced that Jamaat-e-Islami is establishing public committees across villages, towns, neighborhoods, and union councils throughout Pakistan to combat inflation, unemployment, and lawlessness.
Addressing the Family Worker Convention in Taxila, he emphasized that these committees aim to unite citizens against social injustices and lay the groundwork for meaningful, grassroots-level change.
Dr. Saleem also expressed full support for the upcoming long march toward Islamabad, led by Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, aimed at raising awareness of the long-standing issues faced by the people of Balochistan. He stated that the “Haq Do Balochistan” movement transcends ethnic and tribal lines, focusing solely on securing fundamental rights for the province.
He strongly criticized the current political and economic elite, including landlords, capitalists, and sugar mill mafias, accusing them of looting the hard-earned money of the working class.
He condemned the rising privileges and salaries of government officials at the expense of small farmers, traders, and the common man, blaming the ongoing economic crisis on policies driven by IMF dependence.
Dr. Saleem called on the public to stand with Jamaat-e-Islami in the struggle for justice and a fairer system.
Leaders from the National Labor Federation and other party representatives, including Shams-ur-Rehman Swati, Atiq-ur-Rehman Kashmiri, Hafeez Shahid, Amjad Saeed, and Iftikhar Ahmed, were also present and addressed the gathering.
