ITP took legal action against 2,349 vehicles, motorcyclists and public transport vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) is consistently striving to provide every possible travel facility to citizens in the federal capital.

The department is actively engaged in taking indiscriminate legal action against those who violate traffic laws, in order to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.

In this regard, during the past week, the Islamabad Traffic Police took legal action against 2,349 vehicles, motorcyclists, and public transport and freight vehicles for violating traffic laws.

As part of a special campaign, the ITP took action against 1,325 vehicles for using non-standard number plates, 1,522 motorcyclists for riding without helmets, 872 cases of illegal parking, 872 instances of wrong-way driving, 1,077 cases of traffic signal violations, 114 individuals for driving without a license, and 805 drivers for lane discipline violations.

Additionally, 694 vehicles and 1,655 motorcycles were impounded at various police stations due to serious violations.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, has appealed to the public to follow traffic laws and cooperate with the Islamabad Traffic Police so that a well-coordinated traffic system can be maintained and enforcement of traffic regulations ensured.

Islamabad Traffic Police is taking all possible measures to prevent accidents and uphold the rule of law without discrimination.
