Pakistan, Bangladesh to grant visa-free entry for diplomatic & official passports
DHAKA: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to grant visa-free entry for diplomatic and official passports.
This agreement was reached at a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Lieutenant General retired Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Both the sides also agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of internal security and police training. Besides, they discussed to increase collaboration on anti-narcotics and anti-human trafficking. Views were exchanged on joint counter-terrorism measures and exchange programs between police academies of the two countries.
Earlier upon arrival at the Home Affairs Ministry of Bangladesh, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury warmly received Mohsin Naqvi. A guard of honour was also presented to the Interior Minister of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury termed the visit of Pakistan’s Interior Minister extremely important to promote bilateral cooperation between Islamabad and Dhaka. He also thanked Mohsin Naqvi for extending the offer of police training to Bangladeshi officials.
A joint committee, to be headed by Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, has been formed to further boost cooperation. A high-level Bangladeshi delegation will soon visit Islamabad to tour the Safe City Project and National Police Academy. Agencies
