Three killed in Los Angeles explosion

WASHINGTON: An apparent explosion at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) training facility in Monterey Park has killed three people.
The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Friday at the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) compound, which houses the bomb squad and other specialised units.
Footage showed the explosion happened near a law enforcement vehicle. The blast reportedly took place as bomb disposal personnel were handling explosive materials.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department attended the scene. At present, it remained unclear whether there were additional injuries. Authorities were investigating the cause of the explosion.
