Interior Minister greets US on Independence Day, praises President Trump’s global role
ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi extended heartfelt congratulations to the American people, Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker, and other diplomatic officials on the occasion of America’s 249th Independence Day, calling it a celebration of sacrifice and democratic ideals.
In his message, Naqvi said, “We are equal partners in the joy of the American people on their Independence Day,” adding that freedom is a symbol of human identity, sovereignty, and dignity.
He lauded the significance of July 4th as a day of renewed courage, unity, and resolve for the American nation, and offered his best wishes to the U.S. government and citizens.
Notably, the interior minister praised U.S. President Donald Trump, crediting him for steering the United States toward progress, unity, and peace. He said, “President Trump has played and is playing an exemplary role for lasting peace in the world.”
Naqvi expressed hope that long-standing global conflicts would find resolution under Trump’s leadership. He particularly highlighted Trump’s role during Pakistan-India tensions, calling it an example of moderate, visionary, and wise leadership.
He also referred to the historic luncheon hosted by President Trump at the White House in honour of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, describing it as a new foundation for Pak-U.S. relations. Naqvi noted that bilateral cooperation strengthened significantly during periods of regional tension, thanks to Washington’s balanced diplomatic approach.
The interior minister said he hoped America’s 249th Independence Day would serve as a new message of justice, freedom, and peace for the world. NNI
