Operation against encroachments in Quetta going on with full intensity: Zehri

QUETTA: Adviser to CM for local governments Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri on Wednesday said that the Metropolitan Corporation’s operation against encroachments in Quetta city is going on with full intensity and no kind of pressure or recommendation to be tolerated in this regard.
He said that elimination of encroachments has become inevitable for urban facilities, improvement of traffic system and expansion of highways.
He said this while talking to various social, political and commercial delegations from Quetta city.
Issues related to urban development, cleanliness situation, traffic system, encroachments and overall improvement of the city were discussed in the meeting.
PPP leader, Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri said that the current provincial government is giving top priority to the beauty, cleanliness and provision of urban facilities of Quetta city.
He said, “Quetta city belongs to all of us, and its beauty is our shared responsibility, if we all play our role together, Quetta could be transformed into a modern and beautiful city.
He said that illegal encroachments in the city not only create traffic congestion but also affect the urban beauty.
He appealed to the public to cooperate with the local government institutions so that the ongoing operation against encroachments can be successful.
The Adviser also paid tribute to the services of Administrator Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, Hamza Shafqat and said that under his leadership, the Metropolitan Corporation has taken several important steps for the development, cleanliness and beautification of the city.
He also directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action against encroachments, continue the discrimination action and ensure that the public suffers the least amount of inconvenience from this process.
Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri urged the people of Quetta to fully cooperate with the local government institutions, take special care of cleanliness, and avoid illegal constructions or encroachments, so that the city to be made clean, green and beautiful.
