ISLAMABAD: According to the details, Islamabad Police is conducting an effective crackdown in the federal capital to ensure the safety of citizens lives and property by curbing crime and arresting criminal elements.

In this regard, police teams from Secretariat, Karachi Company, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi, Khanna, Humak and Phulgran police stations team arrested 12 accused and recovered 120 liters liquor, 1,347 gram heroin, 507 hashish, 865 gram Ice, four pistols with ammunition and three daggers from their possession. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigations are ongoing.

Additionally, during a special campaign to apprehend absconders and proclaimed offenders eight criminals were also arrested.

SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan stated that Islamabad Police is always actively engaged in ensuring the protection of citizens lives and property in the federal capital. No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the citizens. The safety and security of citizens remain the top priority of Islamabad Police, he added.

He urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant police station or via the emergency helpline 15 so that, through mutual cooperation between police and the public, the city can be made crime-free.

According to the details, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq visited the proposed routes of Muharram processions and Imambargahs in the federal capital. He was accompanied by SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan, zonal SDPOs and SHOs.

On this occasion, the DIG Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the security arrangements and instructed all officers deployed for security duty to remain on high alert. He emphasized that all procession routes must be fully cordoned off and that adequate lighting must be ensured.

He stated that foolproof security arrangements are being implemented for Muharram processions and majalis, and that strict compliance with the prescribed SOPs will be ensured.

He further added that Islamabad Police is fully committed to providing comprehensive security during Muharram-ul-Haram. All necessary measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony and tolerance.

In line with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi efforts will be made to ensure religious harmony and maintain peace and order throughout Muharram in the federal capital.
