Pak Chemical Expo-25 a new beginning for national development: Dharejo

KARACHI: Pakistan Chemical Expo 2025 has commenced today at the Expo Center Karachi.

The event was inaugurated by the Provincial Minister of Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo amidst an impressive gathering of industry leaders, government officials, international delegates, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from across the chemical value chain.

Speaking on the occasion as a chief guest Sindh minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that the chemical industry was viewed not only as a pillar of production but also as a potential engine for exports.

He emphasized that the development of this sector should be the top priority for the Government, adding that the government envisions Pakistan emerging as a regional as well as a global hub for chemical manufacturing. Secretary Industries and Commerce Muhammad Yasin Shar Baloch was also present on this occasion.

The inaugural ceremony began with an introductory address by Haroon Ali Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA). In his speech, Haroon Ali Khan emphasized the critical role of the chemical industry in Pakistan’s economic growth, job creation, and export development.

He underlined the Expo as a strategic initiative by PCMA to bridge the gap between industry, academia, and global markets while encouraging policy support and sustainable industrial practices.

This year’s Expo features over 150 exhibitors from across Pakistan and abroad, representing segments such as basic chemicals, specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, dyes and pigments, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, packaging, R&D, and chemical logistics. International participation includes delegations and buyers from China, Turkey, the UAE, Germany, and other ASEAN countries.

Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, in his keynote address, congratulated PCMA for organizing a high-impact event that aligns with the government’s vision of industrial modernization, economic diversification, and enhanced global trade. He said, ‘ The chemical industry is at the heart of modern manufacturing, from textiles and pharmaceuticals to agriculture and energy.

The Sindh government fully recognized the sector’s importance and committed to creating an enabling environment through progressive trade policies, ease-of-doing-business reforms, and targeted incentives ‘. He was of the opinion that Pakistan Chemical Expo 2025 represents a new chapter of collaboration, innovation, and ambition for our nation.–NNI
